Genuine original artists' prints are conceived as prints and do not exist in any other form, i.e. they are not a 'reproduction' from an existing painting, now so often marketed as a limited edition print, but a deliverately devised work of art using one or more of the print making methods such as linocut, lithography, etching, woodcut etc and printed by the artist or by his assistant under his supervision.
